Jason @ DVD to iPad, one IT guru, asked me one question, which is my favorite media player. Here is my answer:
Foobar2000! It is a very, very recommendable media player! program size is very small, run-time memory only has 1.9M, 5% of CPU resources, resource consumption is very small, simple interface, no Skin and other extra things simple is a beauty.
- Worked-around a reported security problem with certain WAV files and buggy system codecs.
- Skip silence DSP improvements.
- Improved MP3 tag handling (ID3v2) compliance:
- More compliant WXXX parsing.
- More compliant ID3v2.4 date handling.
- Compressed 2.3 tags are now readable.
- Due to heavy structural changes in relevant code, please watch out for MP3 tagging regressions.
- Musepack decoding bug fixes. (Beta 3)
- Fixed a converter bug with writing multichapter files. (Beta 3)
- Improved FLAC / Vorbis “album artist” metadata compatibility with other software. (Beta 4)
- Both “album artist” and “albumartist” are read as fb2k “album artist”.
- Fb2k “album artist” is written as “albumartist” by default, the writing it as “album artist” as before is opt-in.
