In the image compression field, it’s difficult to compress image file faster while keeping high image quality. The best compression algorithm is very slow, with low practical value. Christoph Feck released a lossless image compression codec ImageZero (abbreviated IZ, read as “easy”). He claimed the decompression speed is twice of PNG image, 20 times faster in image compression speed. The compression ratio is close or better than PNG, and the compression ratio of high quality photos is better than JPEG-LS.
